Getting Perspective
The following spiritual gifts inventory is designed to help you to discover your spiritual gift or gifts. Do not regard the results of this test as final. Remember, the three or four gifts you score highest in may or may not be your spiritual gift or gifts, but may possibly be a strong indication.
High scores in a particular area usually mean that you identify with
qualities associated with that gift, though you may not necessarily have that
gift. However, the scores can be an excellent starting place for prayer and
experimentation. Use the inventory in evaluating responsibilities you are
challenged to take on or for opportunities of service that arise in the
church. When there are several ministry opportunities to choose from,
consider taking on an area in which you rate highest.
You need to give yourself approximately one hour to complete the
inventory that follows and another thirty minutes to answer the analysis
questions. Give yourself plenty of time for this very important spiritual exercise.
- For each of the following questions (next page), check the radio button which is true of you most of the time, some of the time, little of the time, or not at all.
- If you are taking this inventory for yourself, read the questions just as they are stated.
- If you are taking this inventory for someone else whom you know very well, then substitute their name for the "I" statements.
- And so for example: "I am one who accepts or rejects ideas quickly" becomes "Bill/Sally accepts or rejects ideas quickly."
- When answering each of the following questions do not mark your answers as to what you think should be true or what you might hope to be true in the future, but mark your answers on the basis of what you know to have been true in past experience.
- After you have answered all 128 questions, your score will be calculated.
- Do not forget to write your top three scores on the Spiritual Gifts Profile Form found on the page with your score results.
- Most importantly, pray asking the Holy Spirit to help you, then turn the page and begin.
