Sermon given by Pastor Carl Broggi

Romans 3:24

Here we see how the righteousness of God is revealed. The doctrine of Justification, Romans 3:21-5:21

I. Justification is an act of God.
Justification means to be declared righteous. Justification by God is the act whereby God declares the believing sinner to be righteous while in a sinful state.

II. Justification is a gift from God.
It is given freely as something not earned. We have nothing to offer God. He reached down to us to declare us righteous.

III. Justification is by the grace of God.
Romans 11:2-6

Personal application for today is:

1. I am reminded that God's grace has no debts to pay.

2. I am reminded that God's grace is hated by the lost man. Luke 18:10-14
The Pharisee went home dignified but the Tax Collector went home justified.

3. I am reminded that the grace of God must be received. Titus 2:11-12

4. God's grace demonstrates just how much he loves us. Romans 1:17, John 17:23

For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. Romans 1:15-17
